Beerded Ladies

water + hops + malt + yeast + blog

This website is devoted to craft beer reviews, sudsy events, brewery tourism, stunning beertography, bad puns, offbeat beer pairings, dispatches from behind the bar and general beverage snobbery where we can apply terms like "biscuity" and talk about hop profiles.

Meet the Ladies.

Women & Beer First at Glorietta Baldy

Glorietta Baldy and Beerded Ladies are teaming up for Women & Beer First, a ladies pint night to celebrate the women of craft beer as a part of NYC Beer Week. This event will be a bit different than most of the official tap takeovers, beer dinners, tastings and the like.

Women & Beer First recognizes the integral and deeply rooted role women have played in the brewing industry, from medieval ale wives to today’s leading ladies of craft. On Friday, February 28th, the ladies are taking over the taps at Brooklyn’s Glorietta Baldy. The bar will offer tap specials on a diverse selection of lady-brewed beers, with several of the talented brewsters in attendance. The event will also feature local female homebrewers and industry professionals representing some of the most popular craft breweries worldwide.

“We're hoping to make this a sort of informal ‘Meet the Brewers’ opportunity for women who are a part of our community or are interested in learning more about beer and brewing. The event is free and open to everyone, not just women – please bring friends of all denominations!”

Confirmed participants include Sixpoint Brewery, Grimm Artisanal Ales, 12 Percent Imports, Kelso of Brooklyn, Allagash Brewing Company, Half Full Brewery, Full Sail Brewing Company, Avery Brewing Company, Empire Brewing Company, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company and Radiant Pig Craft Beers.
